Kathleen H. Heffernan is an attorney with over thirty years of experience practicing architectural, engineering, construction and real estate law. She represents architects/engineers, consultants, owners, and developers in transactional and general counsel type matters and in the drafting and negotiation of contracts, and provides risk management and dispute resolution advice and assistance. Her work includes appearing before the South Shore boards of zoning and planning. She worked for Burns and Levinson, Boston, in their professional practices department and Hill & Barlow, Boston, in their Real Estate Department. She then founded her own practice, Hunter Law P.C of Cohasset, MA, where she enjoyed 15 years of serving clients on the South Shore and the Greater Boston area. She joined Sullivan & Comerford in 2021.

Kathleen received her B.A. degree from Skidmore College and a Master of Studies in environmental law, cum laude, from Vermont Law School. She earned her J.D. cum laude from Vermont Law School, where she won the Thomas M. Debevoise Moot Court Competition. Many professional and general liability insurers appointed Kathleen to represent their insureds in civil litigation matters. In May 2021, she was appointed to the American Arbitration Association Consumer Panel of Arbitrators. She is admitted to practice before the state courts of Massachusetts, the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the First Circuit Court of Appeals.

Kathleen was a member of the Boston Society of Architects’ educational facilities committee for over ten years. She served on the Cohasset Zoning Board of Appeals for many years, as well as the Cohasset Conservation Commission.
